Justin Meek, AICP

Justin is the Assistant Community Development Director for the City of Watsonville. He has worked with the City in various planning capacities for the last 9 years and has over 25 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, including most recently the adoption of the Downtown Watsonville Specific Plan and is currently leading the update of the City’s General Plan. His past work also includes managing the Marina Municipal Airport Master Plan and teaching a graduate level community assessment course at San José State University. He helped organize the 2025 APA Conference in Monterey and has been actively involved on the APA California-Northern Section Board, holding multiple roles including Treasurer, Administrative Director, University Liaison and Monterey Bay Regional Activity Corridor. Mr. Meek holds a master’s degree in urban planning from San José State University and a BA and BS in Environmental Studies and Earth Sciences from UC Santa Cruz.
