Alice Chen, AICP
Alice has over 30 years of experience in multimodal transportation planning and engineering. Alice has worked with several cities and counties in California developing policies and performance standards through collaborative interagency processes. Her work addresses the state’s Complete Streets requirements by adopting policies and developing tools, processes, and procedures for implementation, incorporates the Caltrans’ Smart Mobility Framework into state, regional, and local transportation planning practices, and engages in efforts to reform the CEQA guidelines for transportation analysis. In prior role as an office manager, she led professional development through annual performance reviews and preparation of individual professional development plans. Originally from a small town in New England, she has a degree in Urban Studies from Brown University. She came to California for her master’s degree in Transportation Engineering from UC Berkeley.
