Linda C. Dalton, PhD, FAICP
Linda Dalton is Emerita Professor of City and Regional Planning at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where she taught from 1983 to 2006. Dalton consults on college and university planning, currently under contract to San José State University. Previously, she was involved in campus planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Arizona State University, California State University, East Bay, and Cal Poly. Dalton is a Fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners and a member of the California Planning Roundtable, and has served on the Planning Accreditation Board and the Pacific regional council of the Society of College and University Planning. She has been honored for leadership in planning education and has received awards for articles published in the Journal of the American Planning Association and the Journal of Planning Education and Research. Dalton earned her Ph.D. (1978) and Master’s degree (1974) in Urban Planning from the University of Washington; and her A.B. magna cum laude in Fine Arts from Radcliffe College (1967).
